Kesari: The Story of 21 Courageous Sikhs

Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari will hit the theatre this week. Kesari is based on a true story in which a battle was fought between the 21 Sikhs and 10,000 invaders known as the Battle of Saragrahi. This movie is going to be an Indian version of 300 but with only 21 protagonists.


The movie will take us to the year 1857 when India is ruled by Britishers. On that period Britishers were also invading outside India like Afganistan. And there were only two forts on the border of India and Afganistan. One fort was under the protection of 21 Sikh soldiers. One day in the very morning they saw, they sourrounded by Afgan invaders so for help they inform the Britisher's who are in the second fort. But Britishers unable to help them instantly and ordered them to defend the castle till day. Then the Sikhs have only two choices to go back or to fight, they bravest choose the second one. Those only 21 brave Sikh killed more than 600 Afgan invaders and martyred. Their bravery and chivalry still remembered by many Indian and 12 September every year is celebrated as the Saragrahi day.


Akshay Kumar is seen in the role of Havildar Ishar Singh and the film also features Parineeti Chopra, Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj and Jaspreet Singh in significant roles. Kesari made on budget of 80 crores and can smoothly cross 28 crores on an opening day. The movie will be released on 21 March in 4,000 screens. My first-day first show is booked what about you.
